Overweight and obesity are major risks factors for several chronic illnesses, including cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes. Since the pandemic, locally, we have seen increases in the prevalence of both overweight and obesity to 65.3% Nationally, (69.7% in Reading and 61.3% in West Berkshire) in 2021/22 (OHID 2023).
