We did
Many respondents suggested they would like to get involved in activities in their local community. The Neighbourhood Initiatives Team at Reading Borough Council is starting to make contact with those individuals. Or we can be contacted by email: Neighbourhoodinitiatives@reading.gov.uk
- Each Safer Neighbourhood Forum will receive a breakdown of the results for their area, the local groups will then decide their areas of priority and which actions to take.
- Issues such as parking, potholes and bins will be referred to traffic management and highways/streetcare for their information and consideration in line with the group’s terms of reference to focus on crime and disorder.
- Work from within the Community Safety Partnership e.g, actions on drugs will be shared with neighbourhoods when appropriate.

Overview
The purpose of this survey is to ask residents their views about issues such as crime and disorder and other local issues, to help identify priorities across Reading. The Safer Neighbourhood Forums are required to consult on priorities with a community safety focus every 2 years.
Why your views matter
This community safety survey is being carried out across Reading to inform our neighbourhood working and local safer neighbourhood forums to find out what issues residents consider to be their highest priority at present. Whilst we will look at all issues raised in this survey in order to compare local concerns from previous consultations, we will not be able to impact on all of them and issues such as pot holes and parking will be referred back to the relevant service if there are sufficient concerns. Feedback from this survey will be looked at in conjunction with the Community Safety Partnership (CSP) priorities for Reading and locally reported crime across the Borough alongside the British Crime Survey and priorities identified by Thames Valley Police. Priorities will then be set accordingly.
What happens next
An analysis of the survey will be broken down early in the New Year (2020) and fed back to the Safer Neighbourhood Groups and the Safer Neighbourhood Group Forum
