Gosbrook Road Crossing Facility - Lining Amendments

Closed 8 Oct 2020

Opened 17 Sep 2020

Overview

As part of the Community Infrastructure Levy Funded Schemes (CIL) discussed by the Traffic Management Sub-Committee at their meeting in November 2019, Officers have proposed some amendments to the Gosbrook Road pedestrian crossing.

A ‘tiger crossing’ facility has been designed for cyclists, which will be beneficial for linking the cycle infrastructure to future transport schemes. Accesses to the park necessitate that the crossing is offset from the Christchurch Meadows footpath.

In order to create the necessary visibility for the crossing facility, a reduction of the existing parking bay is required and replacement with double-yellow-lines.

We are now carrying out a statutory consultation for the proposed amendments to the existing restrictions in this area, which would allow the crossing to be installed in the future.
