Overview

As part of our plans to deliver vital adult social care services and affordable housing for the people of Reading, we are working on plans to develop the former Willows care home site on Hexham Road.

Our proposals include:

  • a day care service for adults with learning disabilities
  • sheltered housing for over 55s
  • council housing flats for older people

The development will provide access to either private gardens, shared roof terraces or shared courtyard spaces to ensure the physical and mental wellbeing of tenants is catered for. In addition, the buildings will be built to high levels of sustainability
to ensure that they are as energy efficient as possible.

Why your views matter

We want to hear your views on the plans, to help inform our design process prior to a planning submission. We will keep you informed and feed back to you with the findings.

There will also be further opportunities to submit formal comments on the
planning application to our Planning team.
