Overview

In 2013 the Government introduced the Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013. Reading Borough Council adopted the legislation and licensed a small number of individuals and dealers.
 
The Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013 does not require a council to have a policy, however recent legal advice suggests that having a policy is good practice.
