Amethyst Lane online consultation
Overview
Reading Borough Council owns the former Day Centre site north of Amethyst Lane and is seeking to sustainably redevelop this vacant brownfield site to create much needed affordable family housing and a new Adult Social Care Respite Facility to support people with learning disabilities.
Designs are being developed ahead of submitting a planning application in Spring 2023. The project team are engaging with the local community and stakeholders now to help shape the emerging proposals. The new homes will be 100% affordable and managed by the Council. All homes and the respite facility will be energy efficient, highly sustainable, and constructed with high quality materials. The landscape will include biodiverse planting, new trees and natural play features.
Why your views matter
We want to hear your views on the plans, to help inform our design process prior to a planning submission. We will keep you informed and feed back to you with the findings.
There will also be further opportunities to submit formal comments on the
planning application to our Planning team.
