Hospital & university area: pay and display charging and minor changes

A parking scheme was implemented around the Hospital & University area in early 2017. A scheme update was reported to the Traffic Management Sub-Committee in September 2017, where it was agreed that another Statutory Consultation should take place to expand the existing pay & display restrictions to include weekend charging. Following feedback from residents and organisations from within the scheme area, a few additional alterations were also proposed.  The results of this Consultation were reported to the Sub-Committee in June 2018.

Whilst a number of changes were agreed for implementation at the June 2018 meeting, it was decided that some of the proposals required further consideration of public feedback. Additional proposals were then developed by Officers and Ward Councillors in preparation for another Statutory Consultation.

These proposals have been completed and we are now carrying out a 21 day Statutory Consultation. The responses will be reported to the Traffic Management Sub-Committee at their meeting in March 2019. Members will consider the responses and decide whether to implement, amend or not pursue the implementation of these proposed changes.

As yet, the changes agreed in the June 2018 meeting have not yet been implemented. It is intended that the implementation of restriction changes in this parking scheme area will be conducted as a single scheme, once all changes have been agreed.
