Deacon Way

Overview

This alteration to the Traffic Regulation Order is linked to the development at the Reading Cold Store site, Deacon Way.   These changes are required to help facilitate access to the development site as a result of the relocated vehicle access permitted as part of planning application 221003.

The proposal consists of redistributing the existing single and double yellow line waiting restrictions on both sides of Deacon Way in the vicinity of the site.  The details of which are stipulated within the draft order.

The alterations do result in a reduction of 3 on street parking spaces however this is mitigated by the provision of 7 new on-site parking bays at the Reading Cold Store site, which historically provided no on-site parking.  Overall, the scheme would present a benefit to the wider area by reducing the demand for on street parking and as such creating additional space on street.
